What “reversible” means in KeyVox

KeyVox Vibes offers three choices: Casual, Polished, and Chill.

The important part is not only that you can select a style. You can try another style on your latest unedited dictation without recording it again.

On iPhone, tap the Vibes key to choose a style, then press and hold it to apply that style to your latest unedited dictation. If that style is already applied, pressing and holding returns the text to the previous style.

On Mac, a quick press of the trigger key applies the selected style or returns to the previous one. A double-press moves to the next Vibe.

Once you begin editing or remove the text, KeyVox leaves it alone. That protects the changes you made yourself.

Vibes currently supports English dictation only.

Why changing back is part of the feature

An AI writing feature should not make the version you liked feel disposable.

Sometimes the original dictation is already right. Sometimes you try Casual and decide the earlier Polished version worked better. KeyVox remembers the previous style until you begin editing the text, so testing another tone does not mean giving up the version you had.

The content is there, but the spoken version is too loose for the document. Polished can move it toward a more professional tone while keeping the original idea.

A quick chat that should feel lighter

For an informal space, Chill can simplify the presentation with lowercase formatting and limited punctuation.

A style that did not fit

Try it, decide it does not fit, and return to the previous style. Changing your mind is part of writing.

Style changes stay on your device

Vibes changes the writing style on your device. KeyVox does not need to send the dictated text to a remote rewriting service to apply a Vibe.

That matters because tone experiments often happen inside personal messages, unfinished drafts, work notes, and other text that is not ready for an extra service.

Local processing also keeps the feature aligned with KeyVox dictation itself: speech is transcribed on the device, and the optional writing style is applied there too.
