Does KeyVox Work on Mac?
Hold the KeyVox trigger key, speak, and release to place text where you are working.
Yes. KeyVox is a Mac dictation app that works with the active text field in any ordinary Mac app. Hold the trigger key, speak, and release to stop recording. The downloaded model creates the completed text on the Mac, and KeyVox inserts it together where you were typing so you can review it there.
The Mac workflow
Place the cursor where you want text, hold the configured KeyVox trigger key, speak naturally, and release it to stop recording. KeyVox then creates the completed text and inserts it together. It does not press Send or Return.
Where it works
Use KeyVox in messages, mail, notes, documents, browsers, coding tools, and active terminal prompts that accept text. Once the text is inserted, that app takes over from there.
Local and offline
Download Whisper during setup, or choose Parakeet on a Mac with macOS 14 or later. Normal dictation then runs on the Mac without uploading your recording to a transcription service and can work without internet.
